Delta Air Lines has become the latest airline to announce more airlift to the Cayman Islands, increasing its Minneapolis-Saint Paul flights to Grand Cayman starting this December.

The airline’s communications office confirmed to the Cayman Compass on Tuesday that the US-based airline will be adding another weekly flight from the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport to Owen Roberts International Airport.

The additional flight begins 20 Dec.

This new addition, the airline said, will bring the total number of services to Grand Cayman from the Twin Cities to three per week through mid-April.

“We monitor customer demand and match capacity to where our customers want to fly to most. We believe this additional seasonal flight to Grand Cayman will better serve the needs of our customers,” the airline said in an emailed comment.

Earlier this month, Southwest Airlines commenced its first direct service from Orlando, Florida, to Grand Cayman.

The Orlando flights are replacing Southwest’s service out of Fort Lauderdale, the airline’s former hub.

Earlier this year the Department of Tourism also announced American Airlines will be running direct flights between Dallas-Forth Worth and Grand Cayman starting in December.

Between 5 Dec. and 2 April 2025, American will bring passengers back and forth daily on the approximately three-hour flight.

At present, the airline has a weekly round-trip service to Dallas through May and will have daily service in the summer starting on 5 June through 10 August.

The daily service in the summer started in 2023 and is continuing this year.
