A new deputy chief officer at the Ministry of Education has been appointed.
The ministry said Jerome McCoy had been acting deputy chief minister since last year.
Lyneth Monteith, the acting chief officer, said McCoy, who has worked in a variety of roles in the ministry for more than a decade, had “consistently demonstrated his capacity for highly competent leadership”.
She added: “His understanding of the ministry’s operations, coupled with his innovative approach to problem-solving, makes him an invaluable asset to our team.”
McCoy has a B.Sc. in accountancy from the University College of the Cayman Islands and is studying for a master’s degree in business administration at the University of Bradford in the UK.
He took up his new role last month.
McCoy said: “I am looking forward to making a difference in the lives of our students and educators.”
