Empty hotels rooms across Grand Cayman indicate the slow tourist season has arrived. The upside for locals? Staycation deals are blooming this fall.
For residents, the annual tourist lull in the fall comes with perks. A sweep of offers compiled through the Cayman Islands Tourism Association, the Department of Tourism and direct outreach to hotels and condos shows deep discounts, resident-only rates and value-adds across the islands. Most of the specials run from September through November, and some discounted rates extend to overseas visitors as well.
Long-time condo specialist Lisa Ebanks of Hello Cayman Vacation Rentals says booking direct can stretch a local dollar even further.
“I’ve always been receptive to local bookings and try to work out discounts in the slower season,” she said, noting dynamic specials, sometimes even a free night, and warning that third-party sites may add the 13% government tax that residents don’t pay on direct local stays. This fall, Ebanks is advertising up to 40% off through to 1 Nov.
On Seven Mile Beach, The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach & Spa is wooing residents with a $229 local rate and a fifth night free through 31 Oct.
“The next two to three months is the perfect time for locals to plan a staycation,” said Jay Marsella, vice president of sales and marketing at The Westin. “Our goal is to have more locals experience our resort prior to peak season, and we make that possible with the current packages we are offering.”

Just up the road, Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman has a Cayman Good Neighbor resident rate starting at $199 (plus service and resort fees). Book two or more nights and you’ll receive Sunday brunch for two at Catalina Restaurant, valid through 1 Nov.
“Brunch includes an elevated buffet, excluding alcohol, on Sundays from 12:30-3pm,” said Camila Pantin, marketing manager at Hotel Indigo.
At Hotel Indigo’s IHG sister property, Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa, resident rates start at $279 (plus service and resort fees) through 21 Nov., with extended-stay packages available for international guests.
“This season is the ideal moment for a staycation,” said Yann Gillet, area general manager for Kimpton Seafire and Hotel Indigo. “With the island at its most peaceful, it’s the perfect opportunity to slow down, indulge in our restaurants, experience our resorts, and enjoy a refreshing escape in your very own backyard.”

The Grand Cayman Marriott Resort is offering rooms at KYD$192 per night until 15 Dec. Book two nights and receive a KYD$100 resort credit to use during your stay. A one-night stay is also available at the same rate, without the credit.
Hidden away in West Bay, Cobalt Coast is listing rooms “as low as US$149 per night” plus tax and fees through 31 Oct., with residents saving an extra 10% off the lowest published rate. The resort says that works out to roughly CI$121 per night including the 10% resort fee.
Further south on the North Sound, Holiday Inn is offering staycation rates of up to 20% off, while the Locale Hotel is offering staycations from $99 per night through 31 Oct., with breakfast included and complimentary beach kits.
For more of a splurge, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is advertising up to 25% off on stays of four nights or more through 31 Mar. 2026, plus amenities such as daily breakfast for two, a US$100 resort credit, priority check-in/upgrade (subject to availability) and late checkout.
East End’s Wyndham Reef Resort is running shoulder-season sales of up to 40–50% off on select room-only and all-inclusive packages for travel through 19 Dec. (book by 15 Oct.).
The Sister Islands also have specials, including Bliss Beach House on Cayman Brac, noting a 20% Department of Tourism offer on select dates, and The Club at Little Cayman promoting US$50 off per night on three-night-plus stays in September and October.
Condo properties are offering specials as well. Discovery Point Club is offering stay six nights, get the seventh free between 1 Sept. and 21 Nov. Grandview Condos is promoting a ‘Rest & Relax’ two-bedroom package and a separate 15% off deal (code: FALL15) on four- or five-night stays booked by 31 Oct. for stays through 16 Nov.
Harbour Heights is advertising 30% off on seven-night stays through 31 Oct., with dates varying by unit. Villas of the Galleon is offering a 35% Manager’s Discount Special from 1 Sept. through 15 Nov.
As always, residents should check for blackout dates, minimum-night rules, taxes/fees, ID requirements and confirm whether ‘resident’ rates must be booked direct.
