For Cayman residents looking for a change of scenery without the hassle of travel, this summer’s staycation market is offering more choices than ever.

The promotions include discounted room rates, complimentary nights, dining credits, waived resort fees and tax exemptions for local residents, providing locals with an opportunity to experience the island’s tourism product at reduced cost during the summer months.

One of the newest additions to the local hospitality landscape, One GT, is offering Cayman residents rates starting at US$204 per night. The boutique property, which is Grand Cayman’s only member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World collection, is also waiving the 13% accommodation tax for eligible residents and offering a complimentary welcome cocktail.

On Seven Mile Beach, the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa is promoting resident rates from CI$320 per night, giving guests access to the property’s pools, beach activities and resort amenities. Residents can also access exclusive spa promotions geared at local residents.

Several hotels are offering free-night promotions. Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman is offering Cayman resident rates starting at CI$199 per night and providing a complimentary third night when guests book two nights.

The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa and Sunshine Suites are offering a fifth night free with a four-night stay, while Aqua Bay Club, Sunset Cove Condos, Breezy Bay, Turtle Nest Inn, Grandview Condos and Paradise Villas in Little Cayman are also promoting offers that reward longer stays.

Beyond free-night offers, several resorts are seeking to differentiate themselves through staycation packages that combine accommodation with dining, wellness and other on-property experiences.

“With the beach just 43 steps away, you can spend your days enjoying the beauty of Seven Mile Beach before unwinding at Ms. Piper’s Kitchen + Garden with handcrafted cocktails, delicious culinary offerings, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere,” said Erick Gutierrez, sales director at Hampton by Hilton Grand Cayman.

The hotel’s summer staycation rates begin at CI$175 per night during June and July and include breakfast for two, a 20% dining discount at Ms. Piper’s Kitchen + Garden and waived resort fees. A separate August promotion offers rates from CI$155 per night with similar benefits.

The Grand Caymanian Resort is offering a summer flash sale with rates starting from US$139 per night, along with complimentary breakfast and savings of up to 30%. Holiday Inn Resort Grand Cayman is offering a free third night and daily breakfast for stays booked through August, as well as discounted rates for longer visits.

The Grand Cayman Marriott Resort has introduced resident rates starting at US$249 for a one-night stay or US$217 per night for stays of two nights or more. The offer includes a CI$100 food and beverage credit and waived resort fees.

Another hotel offering packaged rates is The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, which is offering a dedicated resident staycation package starting at US$725 per night. Available exclusively through direct telephone bookings, the package includes a US$100 resort credit that can be redeemed for dining, spa treatments or other experiences across the property.

In West Bay, Cobalt Coast Resort has entered its low season with rates starting from US$149 per night, plus taxes and fees. Cayman residents receive an additional 10% discount on the property’s lowest published rates when booking directly, an offer available year-round. The resort is also temporarily relaxing its usual three-night minimum stay requirement and will accept one-night bookings through 31 Oct.

In East End, Morritt’s Tortuga Club is advertising complimentary two-night staycations for qualifying residents who attend a sales presentation, while The Reef Resort is promoting discounts of up to 70% through its summer all-inclusive sale.

Private accommodation providers are also reporting interest in local bookings. Lisa Ebanks of Hello Cayman Vacation Rentals said Cayman residents can receive a 30% discount on nightly rates at her collection of one-, two- and three-bedroom oceanfront and ocean-view villas.

“My summer dates for special run from present, now to the 1 of November,” Ebanks said. “I am always happy to work with locals as well as tourists overseas and want everyone to have a really great memorable experience.”

Vida Cayman’s ‘Local Summer Special’ features rates starting at US$300 per night for studio suites, with larger two- and three-bedroom suites available from US$600 and US$800 per night respectively. Penthouse accommodations are also included in the offer.

The growing number of promotions comes as tourism operators report continued strength in visitor arrivals and hotel occupancy levels.

Among the properties seeing strong summer demand are The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa and Sunshine Suites Resort.

James Mauer, vice president and managing director of both properties, said visitor numbers to Grand Cayman remain strong heading into the summer season.

“As we approach the summer of 2026, we have experienced a substantial increase in demand, with strong visitor numbers to Grand Cayman, resulting in higher occupancies throughout the season,” Mauer said.

As always, residents should check for blackout dates, minimum-night rules, taxes/fees, ID requirements and confirm whether resident rates must be booked direct.
