The Cayman Islands Brewery – operating under the brand Caybrew – has launched ‘Lagerhead’, a new premium amber lager and a permanent addition to its core portfolio.
The brewery said the lager is “brewed with both flavour and purpose in mind” and that the new beverage supports turtle conservation and protection initiatives led by the Cayman Islands Department of Environment.

Named in honour of the protected loggerhead turtles that nest along Cayman’s beaches, the brewery said, “Lagerhead continues Caybrew’s dedication to protecting the marine environment, alongside ‘White Tip’, its much‑loved shark conservation beer.”
“Lagerhead is a 4.4% alcohol-by-volume amber lager offering a smooth, toasted malt character balanced by a crisp, refreshing finish,” the company announced in a press release, adding that, “Lagerhead has been crafted to appeal to a wide range of beer drinkers and offers an easy‑drinking profile suitable for many occasions.”
Caybrew General Manager Craig Webster said, “It not only brings a new flavour profile to our portfolio but also gives us the opportunity to support the important work being done to protect Cayman’s turtle population. This initiative is closely aligned with our company values and our ongoing commitment to giving back to the Islands.”

For every can, case, pint or pitcher poured, a donation will be made to the Department of Environment, the equivalent of $0.05 per can or $1.20 per case. These funds will directly support turtle protection, conservation and research efforts across all three Islands.
Timothy Austin, the Department of Environment’s deputy director, research and assessment, said, “Contributions from Lagerhead will help protect turtles from threats, fund targeted research to fill gaps in our understanding of conservation needs and raise awareness to support the long-term survival of sea turtles in the Cayman Islands.”
The Caybrew team will host in-bar launch events across Grand Cayman, kicking off at Sunset House on Saturday, 2 May.
