Tennis champ Venus Williams was in
Cayman to promote her latest book, Come to Win last week. She was the latest in
the popular Visiting Author Series.
Williams, 30, did a signing at
Books and Books and kindly agreed to do a meet and greet session with the kids.
Together with the Ministries of Sports and Education, Camana Bay and Books and
Books, student athletes were selected from each high school on Grand Cayman, as
well as up and coming tennis players recommended by the chairman of the Tennis
Federation, Jeremy Superfine and tennis pro Eduardo Torres, who teaches on the
Cayman International School courts.
Williams spoke to each child and
personalised books for them, which were provided by Books and Books. Present
from Books and Books was Holly Smith, the manager and Bianca Freeland, marketing
coordinator. Karl Noble, retail manager for Dart Realty and Annick Jackman from
the Department of Tourism. The tourism ministry sponsor the Visiting Author Series.
