Fatal collision case delayed by outstanding reports

Outstanding crash scene reports have delayed the case of Jordan Telford, who is accused of causing the death of Shemaiah Grant in a collision in May 2021.

“The position is that the matter cannot move ahead today as we are awaiting our reports,” said Telford’s attorney Greg Burke at the hearing Friday. “We are asking that the matter be moved to the next mentions list, at which time we expect that pleas may be entered.”

Grant died shortly after 8:30 pm on Sunday, 2 May 2021 when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a vehicle.

Telford was arrested in connection with the collision and subsequently charged with one count of causing death by careless driving and one of driving while impaired.

He has been released on bail and is due to return to court on 3 March.
