The CIFA Digicel Cayman Cup scheduled for kick-off this weekend promises to be a show down for the New Year. A total of fourteen teams are hoping to start 2006 with a victory.
Head Coach for the Cayman Brac squad Mitchum Sanford, said the Brac boys are looking forward to the opportunity to play against one of the top teams on Grand Cayman, Money Express. Although Mr. Sanford is of the opinion that Money Express may have the advantage since they will be playing on familiar turf he’s confident that his Brac squad will present them with a strong challenge. His team is excited and expects to play a great game.
Fans can look forward to a stimulating game as Money Express will be putting their game faces on. The clash between the two teams is set at the T.E. McField ‘Annex’ Football Field for Saturday January 7th, 2006 at 2:00p.m.
Tigers F.C. who faces Academy SC in Bodden Town at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday is also hoping for a win. Their season has not been the best thus far so they are very eager to come out on top. The club’s First Vice-President Gonzalo McLaughlin has much confidence that with their newly appointed Coach they will stand an excellent chance for victory. The matches this weekend will be exhilarating as all teams are vying for the top position. Every one plans to play hard as only the winners from each match will advance to the next round scheduled for January 14th -15th.
