Janeil Sterling will be spending the summer interning at the Little Cayman Research Centre, a project run by the Central Caribbean Marine Institute.
This July, Janeil graduates from the University College of the Cayman Islands with her Associate’s Degree. In September, she will continue her education at the University of the West Indies Distance Education Centre, located on the UCCI campus.
‘It is very thrilling to have the opportunity to be educated hands on about Cayman’s marine environment and learning from brilliant scientists right here in Cayman,’ commented Miss Sterling. ‘This will be valuable information and education that I can then share with my friends, fellow students and the rest of Cayman’s community.’
‘We will have scientists and students back to back all summer conducting research and being educated’, commented CCMI’s Field Station Manager Jonathan Clamp. ‘In many instances, a group will be arriving the same day another group is leaving. Basically, it will be an exciting and productive summer and we appreciate having Janeil to be on hand to help out.’
Janiel is CCMI’s summer Administrative and Community Outreach Intern and will take part in the daily administrative and outreach activities during its busiest season.
