Honouring Our Educators

Teachers – they nurture young
minds, are dedicated to their craft and make learning fun!

Throughout the month of May the
Ministry of Education, Training and Employment, along with Home School
Associations, Parent Teacher Associations, members of the community and private
sector sponsors, will celebrate our country’s teachers under the theme Honouring
Our Educators.

“We’re celebrating our teachers
because they’re some of the most important persons in our society,” said Education
Minister Rolston Anglin.

“And while they are integral to the
development of our people, their efforts often go unrecognised. As such we are
thanking them all, in both the public and private systems, for their devotion
and daily contributions to our children. 

“We’re also encouraging everyone to
join the celebration by doing something special for their teacher, their
child’s teacher or a teacher who made a difference in their lives.”

Events planned for the month
include visits to local television and radio talk-shows, along with a series of
radio public service announcements.

The celebration will conclude with
a special reception for Grand Cayman educators on Thursday, 27 May. Sister
Islands’ teachers were honoured on 13 May.
