Food certification needed for festival

The Department of Environmental
Health reminds all food vendors that food handlers’ certifications should be up
to date, especially for Pirates Week in November.

Food handlers’ certification is
valid for three years, the department said. If certification has expired,
vendors need to retake the food handlers’ training course. All new vendors must
be certified by the department.

Extra courses have been added to
the training schedule; vendors should contact the department to reserve space.

Course dates are: 27 October, 3
November, 10 November, 24 November, and 8 December. Each session runs from 9am
to 4pm at the Department of Environment conference room in the Cayman Islands Environmental
Centre, 580 North Sound Road.

A registration fee of $15 per
person covers all materials, payable at department headquarters, also at 580
North Sound Road, between 8am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
