Leighton Rankine, who is charged with two counts of attempted murder, was remanded in custody after appearing in court Monday, 27 February, in connection with a shooting outside Club 7 last week.
He has been charged with two attempted murders, common assault, unlawful use of a firearm and possession of an unlicensed firearm.
The charges relate to a shooting outside the nightclub, previously known as Peppers, on West Bay Road on the morning of Wednesday, 22 February 2012, in which two men were injured.
After hearing from the Crown that the defendant had allegedly discharged a firearm and shot two people before police caught him “red-handed” and recovered a gun, Chief Magistrate Nova Hall remanded Rankine to Her Majesty’s Prison.
Chief Magistrate Hall committed the matter to the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands for mention on 9 March.
Rankine is represented by John Furniss.
