Bank robbery suspect charged

Police have charged a 29-year-old man with robbery in connection with the Cayman National Bank robbery last week.

The man, who has also been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, is due to appear in court today, Tuesday, 3 July.

Police arrested the suspect in West Bay on Thursday evening, 28 June, hours after the bank in Buckingham Square on West Bay Road was held up.

Two more people who have arrested in connection with the robbery remain in police custody while enquiries continue, police said.
