Cayman’s equestrians were kept busy at two riding competitions, both national and international, held 4-5 Nov. at The Equestrian Center.
On day one, the Cayman Islands Equestrian Federation hosted the second national dressage show of the season, followed on Sunday by the CEA Regional and Mini Dressage Challenge, which comprises Caribbean islands Antigua, Bermuda, Barbados, Bahamas, Haiti, Jamaica and Trinidad, as well as the Cayman Islands.
Due to the “insurmountable” logistics of transporting horses internationally among the islands for the events, however, the judge travels rather than the competitors, a CIEF press release explained.
Riders who competed in the CEA Dressage Challenge were ranked both individually and by country team.
After all of the countries in the CEA complete their competitions in 2023, the final standings in the Caribbean will be announced, according to the release.
At the National Dressage Show, Jenna Superfine and Sierra Martin were declared High Point Champions.
For the regional competition, Jodie McTaggart and Sierra Martin were named High Point winner for adult and junior riders, respectively, while Eppie Heaney Henderson and Ebba Collins took similar honours in the CEA Mini Dressage Challenge.
