Travel Cayman employee investigated for breach of quarantine

A member of the Travel Cayman team has been ticketed by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service for an incident allegedly involving a breach of quarantine, according to the Ministry of Border Control and Labour.

Responsibility for Travel Cayman falls under the ministry’s remit.

The online portal is responsible for issuing certificates granting eligible travellers permission to travel to Cayman. It also works alongside Public Health in coordinating and monitoring quarantine for travellers who test positive here.

Police ticketed the staff member on Tuesday after the breach took place the day before, the release said.

It added that the staff member is no longer employed by the Cayman Islands government and the incident remains under investigation by the RCIPS.
