Cayman Water Co. assists youth programme

Cayman Water Company recently donated CI$4,000 to assist Scholars International’s ongoing programmes in support of young people in the Cayman Islands.

Half of the donation was directed towards the Scholars Summer Football Camp 2007 and half to sponsor a Scholars Youth Football Team. Annually, Scholars football camp averages between 150 and 225 kids ranging in age from six years and older. In addition, Scholars have six youth teams slated to participate in the upcoming season including boys under 13/15/17/21 and girls under-15/17.

‘We are pleased to support an organization like Scholars International in their continuing efforts to provide the youth of the Cayman Islands with programmes that allow them to develop to their greatest potential not only as athletes, but as students in their schools and citizens of this country,’ Rick McTaggart, President and CEO of Consolidated Water Co. Ltd., Cayman Water’s parent company, said in a press release.

WHO THEY ARE

Cayman Water is the piped water supplier for the Seven Mile Beach area and West Bay District of Grand Cayman. Cayman Water was incorporated in 1973 and has produced and distributed potable water to Grand Cayman since then. Cayman Water’s parent company, Consolidated Water, has operations in five countries in the Caribbean region including Bermuda and produces and supplies over 20 million US gallons of fresh drinking water per day. Cayman Water’s Corporate offices are located on the 4th floor, Windward Three, Regatta Office Park, West Bay Road.
