I refer to the letter written by Mr. Ramon Alberga and really wonder why he feels that he has to stand up for the judges whether they are right or wrong.
If the commissioner of police thought that it was a dark day for justice surely he is entitled to say so. Just because Mr. Alberga thinks otherwise who cares? Half of Cayman thinks it is a dark day and they knew the evidence. I know Mr. Alberga’s photograph is sitting with the judges, but I believe that there is freedom of speech in this country.
Anyway, Mr. Alberga should be more concerned why a retired judge who is over 70 – at least 8 years over the limit allowed by our constitution – is sitting in judgment in this case.
I can say much more, but the governor must know by now as a Caymanian I am most concerned in someone asking our Commissioner of Police to apologise, especially who is an adviser to the chief justice.

If Commissioner of Police Mr. David Baines was in the UK and made such a statement and others about a UK judge, would he be able to keep his job?
