Attempted murder sent to Grand Court

A defendant accused of attempting to kill a man in East End earlier this month appeared in court Tuesday.

Rudy Kendal Solomon, 48, appeared in Summary Court on Tuesday morning when charges against him were transmitted to Grand Court.

Solomon is accused of attempting to cause the death of a 24-year-old man at an address in East End on Jan. 15. In connection with the same incident, he is also charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Defense attorney Prathna Bodden said she was not seeking bail at this time and Magistrate Valdis Foldats told the defendant he could apply in Grand Court.

The matters were set for mention in Grand Court on Friday, Jan. 31.

Solomon stood in the dock with his left arm heavily bandaged and in a sling.

A press advisory issued by police on Tuesday morning indicated that he was released from hospital on Jan. 17 and the victim was released on Jan. 20.
