Five people, including a Customs and Border Control officer, appeared in Grand Court Friday, 29 May, charged in relation to a conspiracy to illegally import firearms and cannabis.
CBC officer Shammar Gordon Cummings, along with Zulecia Aurora Dilone Mambru, Douglas Omar Hurlston, Jorge Alexander Escobar-Murillo and Jeffrey Seymour Fernandez, denied all charges put to them, and are due to face a jury trial on 5 Oct.
Cummings pleaded not guilty to a charge of misconduct in a public office, for allegedly facilitating the importation of firearms, ammunition and cannabis by his four co-accused between 1 Feb. and 11 March.
All five denied charges of conspiracy to import firearms, conspiracy to import ammunition, conspiracy to import cannabis.
Justice Cheryll Richards extended bail for the five defendants until their trial.
